Project complete!

Daniel and I finished straightening out the two staircases and did some extra framing for the client as well. Here are some pictures of the project.

This is the second staircase immediately above the first which at this point had been straightened out. We had to lift up and create a new permanent support for the two stringers farthest from the wall (they were 2 1/4'' lower than the ones closest to the wall - that is 6.4 cm!) Luckily the wall is three layered brick so I had Daniel make the holes in the wall for the new beams. Sorry about all the technical jargon. But isn't it cool???!!

Prepping the jacks for the lift!

Almost there!

The specs call for a new fire rated wall and a door at the top of the stairs to separate the two units. This worked in our favor since we could easily tie the new beams in with the wall!

Daniel is admiring his work and
my camera lens is dusty!

Nice! I would walk on that. Heck, I would jump on that! Actually maybe that's why you had to fix it in the first place...
