The Storm That Hasn't Happened Yet

The weather guys have been crying wolf again in Minnesota. They have been forecasting 12 inches (about 30 cms) of snow since Monday, Feb 19 for this weekend. This apparently is the "biggest" snow storm in "YEARS!" Supposedly starting on Friday night, with a mix of sleet and snow, the storm system will be turning into a full-blooded storm by Saturday - causing mayhem and havoc for the entire state.

Now, after having devoted hours and hours of air time this storm, they are changing the tune - "it will pass south of the cities," "not 12 inches, but more like 4-6 inches." Thanks to the premature sensationalism, the ever-cautious American has stockpiled food, liquor and wood - for a (potential) storm lasting a day or two!

So far, it has snowed a grand total of 1 inch and counting. I really do want it to snow and I hope the meteorologists are right. We need the snow. The farmers need it. For once though, I would like to be surprised when I wake up in the morning and look out of the window to see a bunch of giddy children rolling in piles and piles of snow.

P.S.We will keep you updated on the snow conditions in MN and add pictures when it is all said and done.

What really sucks is having all the cold without the snow!
