Noticing things

I notice weird things - advert signs, spelling errors, clever combination of words, etc. I have always loved the way words can get to the heart of the matter or when it falls short and how sometimes we can make little errors and end up conveying the wrong message. In addition to that, I HATE making mistakes on paper or online and finding them later. I have yet to reread my Master's thesis after getting the bound copy. I just KNOW I'll find some mistake in it and will have to live knowing that.

I have pointed out to several people a sign at Caribou, a coffee-shop chain in the US. These are people who go there often and a couple of them have worked there and even they haven't noticed it. The sign by where you pick up your order says "Piccup here." Simple. Clever! I have wanted to take pictures of so many weird and interesting things and then thought that if I blogged about these as often as I find them, our "boring" button would be checked! So, once in a blue moon, I'll impart my findings.

Here are a few:
Saw these magazines stacked side-by-side at the bookstore.

Some signs warrant a closer look! Click on it and enter at your own risk. (P.S. I know this will NOT shock my Swedish family, but my Indian family will have other thoughts, mostly ending with "chchi, chchi" (Àckligt).

Alright, use your punctuations, people! Babies don't need pumpkins!

Dear Shie,

I will scan and send a few advert signs, spelling errors that frequently found in Delhi and other cities. I am sure you and Jonas will laugh reading it.

We do enjoy seeing Esther Kutoos in the blog.

Love, Dad

These things are really funny! There really are so many of these signs we see in everyday life that we (I), just don't stop to think about.
I'll keep my eyes out for some too. :)

P.S. I would definitely not check the "boring" box... feel free to post more stuff like this. It is fun!
