The Snow Pile...
This is the snow pile created by Jonas after the second storm of last weekend. See how tall it is?! J was pretty proud. He shovelled a lot of snow that day. It was the wet, heavy kind of snow, so it was pretty tiring. Not only that, J also went to his 2 construction job sites and shovelled there as well.
Needless to say, he slept like a log that night.
Guilty as charged!
Here is the washing machine story as promised. A couple of weeks ago our machine decided not to throw out the "dirty bath water" as they say. I promptly accused Jonas. I had a gut feeling that it had something to do with his construction clothes being washed. We waited for the repairman for a week.
Meanwhile, J was nice enough to take our clothes to the laundromat. The repairman finally came and pulled out this - the nail! Happy to have my machine back, I threw in a load of laundry the next day and guess what, the centrifuge system stalled again and we were left with sopping wet clothes. So, back came the repairman and pulled out 2 more nails. It's not over yet. Apparently, J lost about 6 or 7 nails and the washer has to go through a few cycles to spit them all out. Empty your pockets, Jonas!
The Eclipse...
Here is a rather not-so-good picture of the eclipse over the Peace Bridge in Minneapolis. I was losing light so rapidly that, by the time I drove the couple of miles to the bridge, it was pretty dark and my little camera could only manage this. A better camera would have done the beautiful evening more justice. It was quite a site to see the moon grow from a tiny sliver to a big reddish luminescent ball in just a matter of minutes.

there is still snow under your feet, Jonas ;-)
Funny joke with words there: "needless to say...."
He left them in the washingmachine.
Buy a new one or buy new clothes every day, and throw the old ones. And soon your machine will spit out needlekind of stuff in some kind of brahs. My story with our former washing machine is fun too. It ended with us buying a new one, even though we didn´t have to if we knew some fysicslaws.
Em
Great story and evern better pics! Sounds like and expensive way to clean your nails....
@Em: The disposable clothes idea is a good one. Although, what would they be made of? Plastic - ouch and (yuck!)
@Sam: You know J...likes doing things with a flair!
you really hit the hammer on the nail there Sam. Btw I can see you´re as good as me in writing correct
What a relief... I thought we borke the washer while we were there... phew! I wish we could have seen the eclipse too! SOmeone said it was really nice over Europe... we have had cloudcover for weeks now! What color is the sky? I can´t remember!
Wow... Mir thought we "borke" the washer with Em's "brahs" and don't "evern" get me started on "fysicslaws"
@Sam---you are the "furnniest!" @Mir - the sky in Mpls is a GORGEOUS blue, with bright yellow sunshine. Hope you can experience it soon. I am going outside to play. Shie-
