Done at Chucks...

Overseeing rolling corn fields, nestled in the woods right before the placid lake, sits this beautiful home that I have been privileged to do work at. It has been a joy to work outside on this house and what is even greater still, is that I feel I have gained a friend in this client. I wrote about Chuck before and how he took Shiloh and me out on his boat on our birthdays. He is a good guy!

I promised you some pictures of the completed paver patio and here it is.

This is taken from the balcony looking down at the patio.

The patio was originally going to be a little bigger. The patio was laid with salvaged pavers that Chuck had removed from his previous home. He really loves the zig zag pavers. The problem was, as I was laying the pavers I ran out before I got to the edge. I scoured the nation for a manufacturer who still made them but they are not made anymore. I found five pallets of salvaged pavers in Canada and three pallets in Portland Oregon but but they would not break them up and send the 300 we were short. So, I came up with putting a border around the patio with regular pavers found at Home Depot. It turned out rather nice I think. Chuck is pleased, and that is really all that matters.

Here I am with "Barnabas" my trusted colleague. I just loaded "him" up and called Chuck to tell him I was done and heading home. While we were on the phone he asked if I wanted to hang some maple cabinets he just bought for his garage and dress it up with some crown molding. Of course I want to!!! So, I guess I am back at Chuck's again after I lay a hardwood floor for my brother in law.
